We’ve put together this questionnaire to help you visualise your project with more clarity and to provide us with enough information to form an initial opinion about what will be required to deliver it.

Projects can often falter due to lack of understanding between client and supplier. That’s why we do things differently. Believe it or not, this document is the first important step towards the successful delivery of your project by On Tap.

Please note, not every question here will be relevant for your project – just skip any that you feel are irrelevant. However, the more information you provide, the more chance we have of encapsulating your requirements in our response to you.

What is the name of your company and your existing website’s address? *
What does your company do? What is the overall aim of your new website? *
Who are the main people at your company responsibility for this project? Who has the final approval on the project?

Please list their names, email addresses, phone numbers, etc.
Is there a specific date when the project needs to be completed by? / DD / MM YYYY
Is there any significance in this date (product launch, budget usage, etc)?
What is the budget for the project?

Don’t be shy - this will help give us an idea how much time we can spend on your project.
Section 2: Project objectives
What are the primary reasons for deciding to commission a new website? *
What are the business objectives of the new website? Increase sales? Reinforce brand? Process automation? *

Rate each from 1 to 10, with 10 being the most important. Feel free to include as many as you want.
After the website’s launch, describe the scenario at which you would consider the site to be a ‘success’.

10% increase in sales? Greater customer retention? Faster business processes?
Section 3: Current website
What do you like about your current website? What works particularly well? Describe these.
What doesn’t work on your current website? Why?
Do you use a content management system to update your current existing website? If you do, which one? What do you like about it and what do you dislike?
Section 4: Website visitos
Describe the different types of visitor your website might attract. *

Place a ‘value’ to your business from 1 to 10 on each type (which 10 being the highest value).
If a visitor were to see your existing website, what do you think their impression of your company would be?
Once your new website is launched, what do you hope their impression of your company will be?
Why will people choose to use your new website over your competitors?
What questions are a visitor hoping to get answered by your web site?

For example, “Where can I find the cheapest deals?”, “What is the latest news?”, “Where can I find product information?”, etc.
Section 5: Website content and design
List the websites of your competitors. List the features of these sites that you consider to be good, and then list the bad features. Which website do you consider the best, and why?
Please list any websites that you consider to be well designed or structured. Writes some notes about each one.
List any features that you would like your new website to have. How will each of these help the website achieve the business objectives that you’ve documented above?
List the features of a content management system that you think would be important for your organisation in order to maintain your new website.
